Rasiel discovered ancient coins on eBay ten years ago and switched careers to bring the joy of collecting dirty Roman coins to "middle america" as he says. Within a year his company, Dirty Old Coins, was selling hundreds of thousands of Roman coins to homeschoolers and gift shops across the country. Sensing a need for an easy to understand "how-to" manual for these coins he dedicated himself for the next few years to writing the most complete book on the subject available. This last November the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Roman Imperial Coins was finally ready for legions of hobbyists.

Synopsis: The Encyclopedia of Roman Imperial Coins, published in 2005, was an instant hit in the coin collecting community and its followup had been impatiently anticipated. The second edition is finally ready and was designed from the beginning to exceed the expectations of its fans. At nearly 1,500 pages in length this ten pounder tome aims to be the ultimate resource for hobbyists and historians alike by condensing and modernizing the information from a lengthy library of older reference works. To this end, the author has undertaken the ambitious goal of designing a definitive numismatic source for this ever-popular period while sparing no effort to remain accessible to collectors of all levels of expertise.
To accomplish this task the book illustrates thousands of color photos of not only the coins themselves but extant Roman art and architecture as well with in-depth captioning meant to appeal even to the wider audience of Roman history lovers. Each of its hundreds of chapters, spanning no less than fifteen centuries of imperial successors, is accompanied by a biography highlighting anecdotes of historical importance before delving into the complexities of the reign's coinage.
