Barbara Sinor, PhD
Barbara Sinor was raised in southern California in the fifties/sixties when there was no mention of “dysfunctional families” or “co-dependent behavior.” Everyone in her small farm town knew everyone’s first name and whose kid was where in the afternoon. With television programs like “Father Knows Best,” “The Beaver” and “The Ozzie Nelsons” she knew how families were suppose to be and her own family tried to meet thosee social non-verbal standards. Barbara always loved it when her friends would come to her for advice and talk about their problems, somehow this made her own life seem less troubling. She also began to write poetry at a young age. Now, as she focuses on her past, she realizes how it was so easy for her to fall into the counseling arena, and, how her love of writing has always been with her. Barbara Sinor has been a psychospiritual counselor for over thirty years. She works with individuals to explore their healing and recovery of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood abuse/incest, codependent/self-esteem issues, and consults with substance abuse/recovery centers. |
