Deborah resides in Columbus, Georgia with husband, Marshall Pitts. The former Deborah Maxine Terry is an associate director of software testing at TSYS, Inc., Columbus, Georgia. Deborah holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern University, Americus, Georgia, and a M.B.A. degree from Albany State University, Albany, Georgia.

Deborah is a member of the Church of Christ at 3013 Cusseta Road, Columbus, Georgia.

"I Feel Okay" is an inspirational love story based upon true life experiences that Deborah and family faced as they dealt with the tragic death of a husband, a father, and a brother, Clyde slappey of a rare disease of the immune system that affects 8 people in one million annually.

For five months, beginning in 1994, Deborah and Clyde traveled the country and visited many doctors and hospitals in hope to find a cure. Clyde's story is filled with love, perseverance, and a faith in God that passes understanding as the pair fought desperately to find a cure for the disease.
