At the age of three, Christyna Hunter’s doctors proclaimed that she would probably never walk or talk or be a productive member of society.  Since that proclamation, Christyna has worked hard to prove those doctors wrong.  Born with a mild form of cerebral palsy, Christyna struggled through peers taunting her and teachers unable to understand her.

Then, at the age of nine, a tutor was brought in to teach her to type. And Christyna was changed forever.  Since then, she graduated from college and started a freelance writing career that included writings published in such publications as Careers & the disABLED, Parks & Recreation, and Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul.

Her first novel, The Butterfly’s Dance, took seven years of rejections and re-writes before it was published.

Kayla Jennings lost the use of her legs in an auto accident at the age of 12. A spinal cord injury snatched away her childhood dream of becoming a dancer, leaving her no real possibility of a “normal” life. Forced to deal with pain and self-doubt, Kayla turns her back to the idea of ever finding romance. But one day everything changes when she meets a man that knows about broken dreams, who has a similar deep need to believe in love once again.

Together, the two help each other heal their painful pasts. Encouraged by the opportunity, Kayla begins an emotional journey as she learns to accept love for the first time. Presented with another twist - the possibility of getting back the use of her legs - Kayla’s transformation is the unfolding process of any woman into a fully alive, loving human being.
