Dani Dubré
Dani Dubré is a very private person. She lives a quiet, withdrawn life not far from the New Orleans area who speaks to her publisher (though they have never met) via a publisher provided phone. Although Dani has an immense regard for her readers, she has no desire for personal recognition and will not entertain personal appearances or book signings. Dani’s major in college was political science which became a 35-year study of political power and the evil machinations that drive it which she encapsulates in her novels within the thriller genre. She has interviewed countless numbers of defectors from Soviet Russia, Cuba, Vietnam; freedom fighters from Hungary, Afghanistan, and Nicaragua; and those formerly within the echelon of intelligence services. What drives Dani is her writing, and an absolutely sincere wish that her stories of love, loyalty, and the value of human life—along with their opposing forces of hate, deceit, and the demonic manipulation and seizure of the human spirit—will provide her readers with a degree of enjoyment, along with a desire to learn and ultimately recognize the inherent manipulation that accompanies power. As Lord Acton wrote in 1887, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Dani Dubré withheld Whore of Madness as she patiently awaited confirmation of what she perceived was the “hoax of the century” and which was confirmed during the last six months of 2006 as her novel reveals. |
Whore of Madness
Synopsis: Whore of Madness is a political thriller that delivers obsession, international intrigue, Machiavellian manipulation and assassination. Svetlana s story begins the year before the fall of the Soviet Union when KGB Major General Vladimir Bukorov and his renegade cronies in the Politburo concoct a plan to overthrow Gorbachev and save their Communist state. Bukorov s scheme, however, is dependent upon the machinations of an internationalist, who seeks revenge against his nemesis-- Ken Godwin-- who possesses an ultra-secret process that would render oil obsolete and define who would control the world s economy. Bukorov is convinced that the process Godwin stole from him in 1961, will make them billions, while enabling the Soviet Union to become the world s superpower. No longer would they need to keep stoking the
cauldron of terror within the Middle East, nor suck up to the West-- under the guise of Glasnost-- and wait for Western investment dollars to develop their oil and natural gas reserves.
