Terry Cloutier
Terry Cloutier grew up on a 25-acre hobby farm in a small town more than an hours drive from Ottawa, Canada, and claims that it was the best childhood anyone could ask for, despite the fact that the ramshackle old farm house the family moved into in the early 1970’s lacked any form of insulation or modern plumbing. One of Terry’s greatest joys as a child during those tough times was the bi-monthly trips to Ottawa to visit the library. There, he found himself lost in the spellbinding worlds created by such masters as Edgar Rice Burroughs, C.S. Lewis, Robert Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke. A voracious reader like his parents, Terry’s life-long passion for books finally manifested in the mid 1990’s when he launched Bag A Book, one of the first virtual bookstores in Canada. The business was an instant success and grew quickly, but as the years went by, Terry felt he needed something more. He’d been writing stories and poems for as long as he could remember, but had never taken it seriously until one night he got the idea for The Zone War series after watching an old re-run of the 1940’s movie, The Secret Lives of Walter Mitty. |
